Rubber boots required

A few days ago I decided to take Mark and Gracie to Padilla bay - they both had never been. I remember taking the kiddies from daycare there and having a muddy good time. We grabbed our rubber boots (you would be an absolute fool not to wear them there) and we headed up north - just a quick 20 minute ride away. It was a "beautiful" western washington day - no rain that is. We spent only an hour there - the mud was so thick it was hard to venture out more than a few yards.
Mark was the first to get stuck in the mud...

As he made an attempt to turn around and head back towards Grace and I he fell forward. Luckily he put his hands out to catch himself, otherwise he would have ridden home naked! This mud is by far the thickest, stickiest, most fun mud around! Notice his hands...

Gracie took her turn getting stuck...

As you can see Gracie wasn't thrilled. It was a bad day to take her to Padilla bay as she wasn't her "usual self" - the little girl that would typically DIVE into the mud. She was feeling a little 'girly' that day. She's definitely a hard one to read - most of the time she is a total tomboy but sometimmes she puts on her 'princess pants' and wants nothing to do with things that are dirty, wet or icky. She happened to be feeling like a princess that day and was not amused by the mud or the crabs we found. Oh well, we still had fun! Although, by the end we were all feeling a little "crabby"...

Mark was trying to scare us with the crab... we we're scared alright, but that had nothing to do with the crab! :)

this post is making me laugh, alright...mark riding home naked, you ready to tear right into that crab with your bare hands and barred teeth, and especially mark scaring you that had nothing to do with the crab! our families are so the same. these pics look like the ones we took when we went to gig harbor over spring break and roamed the muddy beaches (i had to save brett) and brett fighting the crabs. such a cute family:)

Every time mark flares the nostrils like that - you know you'd better run...

Hi, I found your photos and particularly like the one of Mark wading through mud. I would like to use it in a video. would you be willing to give me permission to do that?
